Mr Sajid Shariff

Consultant Orthopaedic & Trauma Foot & Ankle Surgeon

Mr Shariff is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon specialising in Foot and Ankle surgery. He qualified from Charing Cross Medical School and completed orthopaedic training on the NW Thames rotation with fellowships in Foot and Ankle Surgery at the RNOH and at Clinique de L’Union, Toulouse. 

He was appointed Consultant Orthopaedic surgeon at Medway NHS Trust in 2009, where he leads the Foot and Ankle service and receives tertiary referrals from local trusts.  

He regularly publishes research work including a new clinical test for the spring ligament and the involvement of spring ligament failure in the development of adult acquired flatfoot deformity.

1. Ankle Joint + Sports injuries: Ankle Arthroscopy; Ankle Ligament reconstruction; Osteochondral lesions + Microfracture; Fractures – Internal              fixation 

2. Tendon + Soft tissue problems: Achilles tendonitis; Mortons Neuroma; Plantar fasciitis; Tibialis posterior tendonitis – injections, shockwave                   therapy,orthotics. 

3. Forefoot Deformities: Hallux valgus (Bunion) – Scarf osteotomy; Hammer toes – Weils Osteotomy + toe corrections 

4. Rheumatoid + other arthritic conditions: 1st MTP+ Midfoot + Ankle Fusions 

5. Ankle and Midfoot Deformity correction: osteotomies and tendon transfers
